When Waiting Feels Long

Waiting can be one of the hardest parts of faith.

We pray.

We hope.

We look for signs that something is changing.

And sometimes…nothing seems to happen.

I’ve learned that waiting can make us wonder if God heard our prayer at all.

Did He hear me?
Did I miss something?
Why is this taking so long?

But perhaps silence doesn’t mean God is absent.

Maybe some of God’s deepest work happens in places we cannot see.

A seed buried beneath the soil looks like nothing is happening. Yet underneath the surface, roots are beginning to grow.

Maybe our waiting seasons are like that too.

We may not see the answer yet, but God may be strengthening our roots—teaching us patience, deepening our trust, and preparing us for something we aren’t ready to see yet.

I’m learning that faith isn’t only trusting God when the answer arrives.

Faith is trusting Him while I’m still waiting.

So today, I don’t need to know exactly when.

I don’t need to understand exactly how.

I simply need enough faith for this day.

And tomorrow?

I’ll trust Him with that day when it comes.

✨ Today’s Honest Hallelujah

Lord, I don’t understand the waiting, but I’m grateful that I don’t have to wait alone. You are here too.

A Verse to Carry

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
— Psalm 27:14

🙏 A Simple Prayer

Lord, waiting is hard. When I become impatient or discouraged, remind me that Your silence does not mean Your absence. Help me trust what I cannot see and give me peace while I wait.

Amen.
