These are the chapters that shaped me and the grace that carried me through.
This is my story.
Before the Storm
I was born and raised in the Philippines, where family, faith, food and community were woven into everyday life.
I eventually made the journey to the United States, carrying with me the dreams, values, and lessons that had shaped who I was.
I have already loved people and found joy in serving others. Cooking, caring, and creating a home for those around me have already been part of my heart.
The Chapter I Never Expected
In May 2016, my life changed in a way I never saw coming.
I was diagnosed with cancer. Suddenly the plans I had for my life looked very different.
My career in healthcare was disrupted. My strength was tested. My days became filled wit treatments, doctor appointments, uncertainty, and questions I didn’t have answers for.
Walking Through The Valley.
There were days when I felt sick and weak. Days when I wondered what the future would look like. Financial worries and medical bills added another layer of stress.
But I learned that faith doesn’t mean you never struggle.
Sometimes faith is simply choosing to hold on when you dont have all the answers.
Grace In The Middle Of It
Grace was having enough strength for one more day.
Grace was the people who showed up.
Grace was the prayers whispered when I didnt know what else to do.
Grace was family.
Grace was another morning.
Grace was learning that I didnt have to be strong every minute of my day.
What Surviving Had Taught Me
Cancer changed the way I see life.
I don’t want to rush through it.
I want to notice the people around my table.
I want to cook the meal I want to serve.
I want to be present, give grace, and share hope with those who may walking through thier own valley.
Why Honest Hallelujah
I wanted a place where faith could be honest.
Not polished. Not perfect. Just real.
That’s where Honest Hallelujah was born.
A place for the messy parts of life. the beautiful parts, and everything in between.
A place where we can find grace together.
You don't have to have a perfect life to have a beautiful story.
Come as you are. Pull up a chair.
There is always room at His Table.
